Oshakati Open Market needs new approach
Oshakati New Open Market, I wonder who is entitle to have a stand there.
That place can run like Ongwediva Trade Fair just to vision it for that matter if the Town Council truly pays attention on idea as such when it comes to its opening day. That place can give birth to more new projects that the Town Council can introduce in a near future. And talking of the future, the money that is invested in Efundja projects and all other minor project, those funds can be used to reshape the mentality of the Efundja victims and that the council should start to refocus its intellectualresources in ideas that truly matters.
Efundja is treated as a disease but it’s just a condition that has it unpredictable season of how it occurs. Today we can say, we are going to allocate 10 million in a Efundja project in case the season challenge us, but the more we do that the more we tend to babysits those victim of Efundja to get adopted into the mentality that enslave them for many years to come. People need to be challenge on how to get along with new developments that vital either to their health and how they influence theiroffspring.
I don’t think we still have that vision again of winning “Ingozi never loose” as Oshakati was very highly respected Town. If you have to be in Windhoek in 2005 and listen to the way people talk about Oshakati, you will be amazed how they honour Oshakati.
I hope the stands are not just going to be allocated to those who were in exile but also to everyone that have a strong and profitable mindset when it comes to business, otherwise other products should find their ways into museum shells where they can be exhibited to those foreigners that give bad reports about our countries the moment they return where they came from. I am not saying since we eat “Eembe and Omakaka” as those items don’t need to be sold. Every product needs to be sold, starting from traditional foods and they should be sold in a manner that people are given standards and rules on how to be highlyhygiene. I want to see people excited when they hear the name Oshakati new open market and that’s my purpose as why i am so interested in Oshakati open market.
I am recommending a book that I read two years back title: “Who moved my cheese” by Dr. Johnson, the book tell a simple story that reveals profound truths about change that give people and organizations a quick and easy ways to succeed and this came to my attention that our people might be stuck at one station only thinking that the cheese is their just like those who are Efundja victim still waiting for the government to allocated aid over and over again, but the question is, forhow long we are going to be in the aid mentality? Our people need to grow and move from one station to another without being deceived by the current geographical symptoms. We can treat a symptom but tomorrow it grows to other regions and what are we going to do? Play hide and seek with Mother Nature or what?
Oshakati has a lot to offer, especially that people are now able to trace it from Google earth as where they can build new complex without the effect of the flood and so on. Business in Oshakati can’t just be done within the zone of three complexes, and that’s something we need to reconsider, and the danger we are facing now is that, our business people are now on the run to look for develop places to setup their businesses and this can mean that Oshakati is becoming a desert in good speeches we tell in meeting if we don’t act fast.
A good town is noticed by how its people engaged in activities that seems so small and they make use of those activities to grow bigger ideas on how their town can represent them in a near future.
