Stock theft suspects pleads guilty
The three, Dennis Fredrick, 31, Jimmy Boois, 27, and Absalom Gariseb, 37, were remanded into police custody after Magistrate Vanessa Stanley denied them bail.
The three men were found with meat that was hidden in a large drum at farm Baumgartsbrunn in the Daan Viljoen District.
They were tracked down by Tjupa Likwanga, who identified that the head of cattle was valued at N$8 000 and that it belonged to him.
However, Fredricks disputed this in court saying that the oxen belonged to his father and that Boois and Gariseb are implicated in the same matter as they confessed to have helped him load the meat into the Nissan bakkie.
Fredricks told the court that he slaughtered his father’s oxen because he was refused money to buy food. Fredricks is alleged to have driven the oxen out of the kraal into the veld where he killed it before transporting the meat back to the farm.
The matter was postponed to October 22 for further police investigation and legal representation for the three acussed.
