Mix Alert Volume-1 not up to standard

Holla my peeps . Eish, this time around I got hold of Mix Alert from 24 Reg. I didn’t have a clue of what to expect from this album. As soon as I played it, Jump On Train gave me a clue of what to expect. The song was all over the place. I didn’t hesitate to skip it, it doesn’t sound complete. I skipped to Sunrise and all I could say is LOL.

Healthy Life Style is a song with a strong message but instrumental wise; it’s just not up to standard.

The vocals are everywhere and the keyboard sounds out of tune. By this time my mind is telling me this is one of those albums that are just rushed or sound like a bunch of ringtones. Lyrics like “you make my heart go boom boom,” are the type you can expect in song like Altercation. I don’t know what the concept behind this song was - it has a lot of background noise.

I’m Leaving is perfect example of an artist singing from the nose instead of singing from the stomach. The bridge here is out of tune too. The lyrics don’t make sense and it’s hard to understand it. Remember how Kwaito used to sound like when it all started? Deci Vibe sounds exactly like that.

Good idea behind the song, but it doesn’t work at all. Eish, by this time I was looking for at least a song that sounds a little bit ok. Rramasedi is that song. It’s just that it doesn’t sound finished but I like the Tswana lyrics. The only disappointment is that the vocals went on and off.
Melody is almost up to standard.

I like the verse, the beat and the chorus is sweet Songs like Don’t, Weekend Fever and Shega Vuza, however, need to go back to the studio and re worked on – they sound like ringtones from a Nokia 1100 phone.

At this point I decided not to listen anymore. I was very disappointed of the fact that music like this is still out there. Artist, get your game right and produce quality instead of quantity. Drop me your comments at Samuel@namibiansun.com
