Lowe reunited with Hamilton at Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton will be reunited with Paddy Lowe sooner than expected, after Mercedes announced yesterday that the former McLaren technical head was joining their Formula One team next month.
Mercedes said in a statement that the Briton had been appointed executive director (technical) and would start on June 3 -the week of the Canadian Grand Prix- after agreement was reached with McLaren for him to be released from the remaining seven months of his contract.

Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams underlined their French Open ambitions with convincing final victories in Rome on Sunday.
In what was his 30th meeting with Roger Federer, clay court king Nadal outclassed the Swiss 6-1, 6-3 as he continued his stunning comeback following a seven-month injury absence.
Williams, who will head to Paris next week hoping to avenge her stunning first round defeat to Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano last year, was in equally imperious form as she swept aside Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-3.

Maova gets Brave Warriors call-up

Under-20 national team goalkeeper, Edward Maova, has been included in the Brave Warriors squad from which the team will be chosen to face Zambia at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday.
Maova, who plays for Rundu Chiefs, is one of three goalkeepers called up for the game, with the others being the South African-based duo of Efraim Tjihonge and Virgil Vries.
The youngster has seemingly been rewarded for his excellent form this season. He has captained Chiefs in their bid to avoid relegation from the Namibia Premier League (NPL).

Hardap wins Auf Ballhöhe football trophy

The under-15 boys from the Hardap Region are the first winners of the Auf Ballhöhe football trophy, which was introduced at the Joseph Stephanus Stadium on Friday.
In addition to the trophy, the German social project 'Auf Ballhöhe' (roughly translated into English, Auf' Ballhöhe means on the ball ), which provides football training and inter-cultural education to the youth, donated footballs and sports T-shirts.
The event was sponsored by Gigi Construction.
